Portrait of Scott Weiland (singer of Stone Temple Pilots and Velvet Revolver) made using the lyrics of "Sex Type Thing" by STP.

Took about 3 hours in Illustrator CS3.

August 2011 - I get a number of people asking about using images from this series as desktop images. If that's what you want to do, go for it, you don't need my permission...

I'm confused; I've seen, on other websites, this same piece but the artist was said to be steve butabi, can you resolve any confusion?

Wow, thanks for calling that to my attention... This most certainly is a portrait of Scott Weiland and I most certainly am the original artist. It seems the image has been incorrectly credited to a fellow named Steve Butabi on at least one blog though. I'm contacting them to ask for a correction.

It's on my "to do" list... just behind numerous other projects. I'm planning an entire revamp of my gallery on DA with nicer, more color accurate and finished presentation of the various pieces. It'll also feature tutorials on several projects (several of which are not yet uploaded here).

But right now it's summer and, after working all day on a computer, my motivation lacks to continue doing so in the evenings...
